A/N: This is probably the shortest chapter I've written for this fic so far. Only 1600 words. It's kind of all over the place. Updated for farahhani and Hanaa-dongsaeng, who is expecting a little bundle of joy. I hope you all enjoy!

Warning: Men can be crybabies, too.

Loving You

Chapter 16

Security informed Su Ho and Hee Jin that his son-in-law has been in an accident and that the paramedics were already on their way.  The two of them rushed to the front of the hotel.

“Oh, my goodness.  Yoochun!” Hee Jin exclaimed when she saw his unconscious body on the stretcher being rolled towards the ambulance.  Her gaze followed Junsu trailing behind them.

“Junsu!” she called.

He simply told them, “I can’t leave him.  I’ll see you two at the hospital.”  He jumped into the ambulance before the doors were shut in front of his parents.

Next, came Yunho in a stretcher and Jaejoong behind the paramedics pushing him.

“Oh, no!  Yunho!  What happened?”

“It’s just a sprained ankle.”

“What about Yoochun?  What happened to him?”

“He was hit by a car.”

The Kims and Jaejoong were getting more and more anxious by the minute.  Yunho had been admitted into the hospital for his sprained ankle upon his father’s orders to keep weight off of it.  They’ve been waiting at the hospital for over an hour now for any kind of update on Yoochun’s condition.  The police had

The four adults stood abruptly as soon as they spotted Dr. Jung, Sr.

“I’m afraid Yoochun-sshi is in a coma.”

The word ‘coma’ echoed in Junsu’s head.  Yoochun was in a coma.  His brother-in-law was in a coma.  All because of Junsu.

“His right leg is also broken...”

Junsu sat back down in his seat and rested his head in his palms.  Everything Dr. Jung was saying became background noise.  This was entirely his fault.  If he had not been distracted for one minute, Yoochun wouldn’t be in his current condition right now.  He would never forgive himself if Yoochun never wakes up again.  Oh, god, he didn’t even want think about that.  He had to see him. Now.  He left without a word and the others didn’t stop him.

After a while, the doctor regrettably left the Kims and Jaejoong to tend to his other patients.

“I’ll go update Yunho on Yoochun’s condition.  He would want to know,” Jaejoong said.

Su Ho and Hee Jin nodded in agreement.

“We will be there in a while, ” he said before leaving.

As soon as Junsu’s eyes fell on Yoochun’s motionless body on the bed, there was nothing he could do to stop the tears from streaming down his cheeks.  Yoochun’s head was bandaged and his right leg was in a cast.  The sight was just so heart wrenching that Junsu let out several sobs, his shoulders shaking.

His parents passed by the window of the room.  Hee Jin paused and held onto her husband’s sleeve.  He turned to her, then view through the window, and immediately understood that their son needed more time alone with Yoochun.

When his sobs came out louder, Junsu had to cover his mouth, run into the bathroom, and turn on the faucet before causing any sort of alarm on that floor of the hospital.  He can’t lose someone dear to him again.  He just couldn’t.   He leaned onto the sink for support.

Several minutes passed before he could compose himself.  He washed his face and patted it dry with a towel.  When he finally stepped out of the bathroom, his parents and two friends were present in the room.  Yunho was sitting in a wheelchair.  They glanced at him with teary eyes for an instant before returning their gazes to the comatosed man on the bed.  Jaejoong walked over and pulled him into a comforting hug.  In his embrace, Junsu fought back the onslaught of tears but a few manage to escape.

“I want to stay with him,” he stated.  Visiting hours was almost over.

Nobody argued with him.  They each bid him farewell and returned home.

“You need to eat and get some proper sleep, Junsu,” Jaejoong stated.  “You’ve been watching over him for three days and two nights now.  Do you really want him to wake up to…” he waved his hand up and down, “this?” he finished.

Junsu managed a weak smile.

Jaejoong let out a sigh.  “You know very well that Yoochun would want you to take care of yourself.”

“I know.”  A moment passed.  “I’ll go, but only because I don’t want him to start worrying about me after he wakes up.”

“No, we can’t have him be the worrier.”

They’ve all agreed to remain positive that Yoochun would wake up again.  However, after three days, Junsu’s faith was waning.  Instead of heading straight home, Junsu took a cab to the cemetery.

Junsu stood before Junho’s gravestone in the cemetery.

“It’s uh...been a while,” he started lamely.

In fact, this was the first time Junsu’s visited his twin’s grave since the burial.

Here lies Kim Junho, a loving son, brother, and husband was engraved on the tombstone.

‘Loving brother,’ Junsu read to himself.

He looked up to the sky and silently prayed.

Please don’t take another person I care about away from me.  I beg of you.  Please.  I need him in my life.  So, so terribly much that it will kill me if I lose him, too.

Junsu had no idea where this desperation came from, but they were his true feelings.

Jaejoong had convinced Junsu to eat something in the cafeteria in the hospital while his mother stayed in the room.  Junsu absently poked at his food with his plastic fork.

“Jaejoong-ah.”

“Hm.”

“What does it mean when you care about someone, you want to protect him, you need him, and you can’t lose him?”

“It means you love him.”

Junsu stared at Jaejoong in bewilderment.  How could he be in love with Yoochun?  Wasn’t he in love with Jaejoong instead?  Yoochun was his brother-in-law and Junho’s widower, whom he’d promised to protect.

Junsu hadn’t realized he had voiced the last part of his thoughts until Jaejoong replied.  “That request was made in a dream, Junsu.  It was your subconscious telling you that you must protect Yoochun, because even though you refused to admit it back then, you had already begun to care about him.”

~:~:~:~

Sitting beside Yoochun’s bed now, Junsu hesitantly reached for his left hand.  His eyes watered.  It hurt so much to see his Yoochun like this.  He paused.  When had he started referring to him as his Yoochun?  Deep down he had always cared for Yoochun, but did that mean that he protected him because he was in love with Yoochun, too?  No, he can’t be.  He simply believed that if Yoochun never woke up again, then he would never know how much Junsu cared about him, and that filled Junsu’s heart with regret.

“Please wake up, Yoochun.  You can’t leave us yet.  You can’t leave…” me.

~:~:~:~:~

Yoochun had no idea where he was.  There was nothing around him but a sea of darkness.

Was he...dead?

“Yoochun-ah,” a voice called softly.  A voice very similar to his late husband’s.  “Open your eyes, Chun-ah.  Don’t you know that there’s someone waiting desperately for you to wake up.”

Who? he wanted to ask, but then he heard Junsu’s voice.

“Please wake up, Yoochun.” He sounded so vulnerable to Yoochun’s ears that his heart ached for him.  He needed to wake up and return to his family.  To Junsu.

Open your eyes, the voice has said.  Was it really that simple?

He shut his eyes and reopened them, expecting to be consumed by darkness again, but he wasn’t.  This time he was in a hospital room with some light coming through the blinds, the heart monitor beeping a constant melody.  Junsu was sleeping in his chair, his arms and head resting on the bedside.  Yoochun’s heart warmed.  This scene reminded Yoochun very much of that morning in the library.  He was...home.

~:~:~:~:~

Junsu sighed in his sleep.  Someone was running their fingers through his hair, back and forth.  It was relaxing.  Then he heard a sniffle and he frowned.  His eyes opened slowly, realizing he was resting his head on the side of the bedside next to Yoochun’s hand.  He wasn’t sure if he was dreaming but Yoochun was the one sniffling.  Why would Yoochun be crying when he was still...Junsu sat up immediately.   He couldn’t believe his eyes.  Yoochun was awake!  He was crying, too, but the important thing was that he was finally awake.

He moved to sit on the bed, full of concern.  “What’s wrong, Yoochunnie?  Are you hurt?  Should I call the nurse?”  He was almost off the bed when Yoochun held onto his wrist to prevent him from moving any further.  He sat back down and leaned in, waiting.

“I’m just--hic--so glad that you--hic--are all right,” he explained between sobs.

Junsu’s face softened.  “Took the words right out of my mouth.  Do you know how worried I was?  There, now.”

He couldn’t bare to see him cry anymore, so he bent down to kiss Yoochun’s eyelids.  It felt like the most natural thing to do that he didn’t stop there.  His lips moved up to kiss Yoochun on the forehead, then lower to kiss the tip of his nose.  Just when Yoochun thought Junsu would end it there, he was proven wrong when he felt Junsu’s lips on his. His eyes widened in surprise. He should push Junsu away but he couldn't. Not when he wanted kiss him, too. Slowly, he closed his eyes and was lost in Junsu's sweet, tender kiss.

A/N:  Thank you all for waiting patiently for an update.  This was not how I envisioned this chapter at all.  Originally, I was going to explain the entire Sung Min and Shindong partnership, but that was giving me writer’s block.  I don’t even want to explain it anymore.  I just want to focus more on Junchun’s growing relationship.  Sorry this chapter wasn't longer. Not sure when I'll update again. If I knew how to describe a kiss, I wouldn't have just ended this chapter like this. Going to bed now. Good night.
