OH NO THAT LAST LINE. (God you know I cry at practically anything - it feels like you did this on purpose.)
Waterworks aside, ugh, I absolutely adore the conversation between Helena and Myka's daddy. And I love how you hint at Helena being slightly anachronistic about the whole thing, because obviously she would be - one of my favourite unexplored territories from the show. Plus I just think it's a bit adorable that she wants to do the proper/traditional thing even though it's far from proper or traditional in lots of ways?
EVERYTHING IS WONDERFUL. BIG FAT STUPID SMILE ON MY FACE. Ty.
(Oh also, forgot to mention, book store makeouts, how remiss of me. BOOK STORE MAKEOUTS. I have died and gone to fangirl heaven.)
I SWEAR I WASN'T TRYING TO MAKE YOU CRY! I just got all ridiculous and sentimental and I don't even know. (Plus I was writing about them in a bookshop so I just had to get all ~literary and shit.)
You know, it keeps happening when I write Helena that she ends up being sort of oddly traditional - but also not - at the same time. Like proposing in the first place? IDK. I feel like it works for her though. I mean, she was all ~radical and rebellious for Victorian England but some of those ideals and social conventions would have to have carried through and so for ~our time they seem a little dated or traditional. Plus also, I think it just makes her extra adorable when she does stuff like that so I'm a sucker for it haha.
Eeee so happy it made you smily! I kept worrying that it really was just ~too sacharine but we've clearly established it's weakness for me with this ship so whatever.
Bookstore makeout! I couldnn't not do it. I just couldn't. <3
Thank you so much, I'm really glad you liked it! I think there might be a few more random installments in this little universe so we'll see what happens ;D
“Uh, HG?” he calls loudly. “I think Myka's having some kind of a breakdown.”
Helena is quick down the stairs and into the dining room, looking from Myka immobile in her chair to Pete hovering next to her. “What did you do?” she accuses, kneeling next to her fiancée.
I AM SO GLAD YOU LIKED IT! (This is becoming the series known as 'the sugar coma inducing adventures of Bering and Wells. The next instalment may include wedding dresses. There might also be one involving an argument about who's taking the other's name. Pete started it. Ahem.)
But ugh, I'm kind of sorry that it made you think about what you've wanted from your parents. That they fail to be this way boggles my mind honestly. Hehehe, and all the donkey's. Where do you come up with these things Eff?! I adore you and your hilarious brain. <3)
