Eeee this is so gorgeous! And it's re-awakened a bit of my Castle love which I'd been sad had been slipping lately.

I really feel like they could go this route with them right now - the tentative steps towards each other rather than yet another road block or secret - and it would SO work.

In time her life becomes about a series of moments in which she chooses to embrace happiness just inches from Richard Castle.

I love the echoes in this - that line with the one at the start, and that last image with that of him hovering over her when shot.

Beautiful ♥

Thank you so much! I'm sorry your Castle love has been slipping lately (though I do understand) but I'm glad this helped re-awaken it a little!

I wish they would. Tentative steps would be beautiful to see played out on screen, and honestly be much more plausible than the complete lack of change at the moment. :(

God, yes. Why do showrunners think that bringing a couple to a standstill will keep us interested?

OK, so, when are you getting a job on the writing staff? Because that needs to happen.

I would take it in a heartbeat! (Despite no screenwriting experience at all lmao).

Thank you so much though, it means a lot that you like my writing so much.

I don't really know what to say because anything I do, you deserve more. I tend to pull out lines for people because as someone who writes I get it, that need to see what people love, what hit people because you work so hard on it. Unfortunately I lack time and wish there were more days or more hours so I could do that but instead I read on my phone on public transportation and pulling lines doesn't quite seem to be an option.

Sorry. Rambling. Truthfully though I'm not sure what I would pull out because it's all so incredible and hurts but also comforting, maybe, sort of. I love this mention of them being different now. It's not how it used to be. I was watching scenes from the beginning of season 3 last night and it was different and that was my first thought when I was watching. There is too much now. It's less playful, he's less playful and I miss that.

Your conversation in the elevator. Write it into a movie. Not even for Beckett and Castle. Just another movie. Or let me write the movie, steal that incredible scene and give you ( ... )

Oh my gosh, seriously this is such a lovely comment, really.

Their tone is most definitely different and I think it's completely to do with how much there is between them. All these feelings and history and longing and it must just weigh on them. I miss the playfullness too. I can only hope that the writers will see sense and start to have them work through their issues so we can see that playfullness again. They would be so much fun to watch in a relationship.

Please, go ahead and write into a movie, I'd be honoured! I have no experience in screenwriting whatsoever and I find it a daunting task to contemplate. Dialogue is actually the thing I struggle with most so I have no idea how I'd handle writing scripts haha.

Thank you so much for this thoughtful comment, it really does make my day to hear what people like about my writing. <3

It's interesting to me that you struggle with dialogue the most because that conversation was incredible.. So yeah. One day I'm gonna steal it and write it into an epic RomCom and you can come to the premiere :)

Oh and yes! They'd be amazing to watch in a relationship. We must get on that.

Well, I guess it's more that dialogue is the thing I'm least confident about writing. I do a lot of second guessing about whether the voices are right, and whether it sounds like natural speech, which is sometimes difficult to work out. But I'm so so glad that you liked the conversation in the elevator.

Hee, excellent! I will look forward to that immensely.

We really must. Come on Marlowe, just do it!

Wow wow wow wow wow. They should seriously hire you to write on the show because you have such a great read on the Castle/Beckett relationship and the situations they find themselves in. I particularly love the way you framed Beckett's reaction to Sophia's "I wish we never slept together" comment- because I really didn't buy the obvious leap there, that "after all Castle and Beckett have been though, Kate would somehow think that the spark would just fizzle out after a short tryst" kind of thing. Not sure if that makes sense, but the point is I loved your interpretation of Kate's reaction. Your stories are a pleasure to read and this one is no exception. :)

I found that whole speech of Sophia's very weird. Honestly, it came across to me as the writers trying tell the audience why they haven't put Castle and Beckett together yet and it just wasn't subtle at all. So I'm glad you liked my interpretation and the story as a whole! Thank you for reading and commenting.
