"It only ends once, everything that happens before that is just progress."

I feel like part of my soul just died with the series finale of Lost.
My heart feels broken... like... it's gone... I think that was the only fitting end for LOST, honestly. Haters will hate, but w/e w/e it fit ( Read more... )

That second thread is exactly what I got from it. We were led to believe that the flash sideways was an alternative universe, but in the end it was just a "purgatory" of sorts to help them accept death and be together. Even though we were seeing it from Jack's POV and saw him accept his death in the church at the time he died, life went on without him. He died on the island, and some died before him, some after (off the island I suppose, and when their own time came). But like Christian said, there was no "now" in the afterlife, so they all met at what felt like the same time. And they needed each other to move on.
But the island was real, which amazes me. Everyone who died there, actually died there.

idk I thought the end was just BEAUTIFUL. I loved how it completely came full circle. Right down to the last shot being almost exactly the same as the first shot in episode one. omg dnw to cry again D:

Thats why the flash sideways seemed to make no sense... because it was really all a sort of "dream world" and wasn't real at all.
I agree with all that you said. People who talked about LOST said the island was hell or purgatory or not real but that was the most real part of any of their lives, which is sort of ironic.

YES mte. That shot of his eye closing, and Vincent coming up... it was absolutely perfect, just how it began, it ends. (I watched like the last half hour again tonight with my mom and everyone 2 seconds she was asking me what was going on and she didn't get the eye thing at ALL at the end and I was like "asldjflasdjlsdal DX")

I'm not quite sure that I'm satisfied with that as an ending but oh well...that said I'm still trying to wrap my head around the whole thing ( ... )

Yeah, I got that part about Ben not going in and all. And Juliet with Sawyer. And of course there's Penny...who was never even on the island in the first place, but who got in there b/c of Desmond I guess. At first I thought that everyone at the church had to do with island couples...Charlie & Claire, Jack & Kate, Sawyer & Juliet, Sayid & Shannon, Rose & Bernard, Desmond & Penny, Hurley & Libby, Sun & Jin....but then random single Locke and Boone threw that off ( ... )

I think Penny was connected to the island though.. in the sense that Desmond was there, she searched for it, she was his constant - his life involved the island AND her, so she was involved in the island therefore as well.

Jacob!Hurley was... to still protect the light. Protect the good, because there would always be evil or someone trying to find the island, like Widmore or Dharma people or someone trying to cause bad. Hurley was the perfect choice because he was a good-hearted person, and like MIB said, Jack was way too obvious XD We don't know for sure what Hurley/Ben did, but it sounds like they did it for a while, and did a good job of it. I think that's left open for us to interpret but in the end, it's not that important - we just have to know that they protected the island, as was needed - the island always needed a protector.

I honestly can't even think of questions I had, as I was too busy trying to understand what we were given so to me, yes, I would like answers but I like being able to think what happened for myself ( ... )
