Seeing the world through woman's eyes

Also starting to open my eyes to the masculocentric world we live in. I mean, i've only just started to forgive myself for menstruating. If i had a laptop, i'd like to do a proper essay on what i mean but don't have the focus/comfort to type like that on a PC so it'll just have to wait. It's an important realisation to have, and I fear lots of women don't ever come to it. That's awesome that your dad is so feminist. :)

I'm a little shocked, given my upbringing, that it's taken so long. I never realised i hadn't had it until the other day, when i suddenly didn't feel guilty about the fact i was on my period. I just realised that if i didn't live in a male dominated world i wouldn't suffer it the way i do and i would be free to relax and even celebrate it and that made me, not 'angry' as such, more 'aware', though neither word is quite what i mean.

But yeah, interesting moment. "this is who i am and i am proud and righteous".

I think the best parents are the ones that introduce us to these liberating things. I still don't think my Mum's forgiven my Dad for how I turned out...

Hehe, it's funny how dad's do that :)

Read somewhere once that men with teenage daughters are more likely to have left-wing political leanings, regardless of how they would have voted prior to having teenage daughters, so maybe it's a mutual thing?
