she's gorgeous, what a cutie! I love the name Silvia

but my four kitties would hate her

they are all rabidly anti-dog

Yeah, Silvia does tend to chase after cats. Not with nearly as much gusto as she goes after squirrels, but I'm sure they wouldn't like it.

With people, though, she's such a sweetheart!

she's a terrier, right? I don't know much about dogs

they seem to love to hunt

so cute. They're cute dogs and she's ESPECIALLY adorable

Miniature Schnauzers are considered terriers, yes, and terriers were bred as ratters. So yeah, it's in their instinct to go after small rodents. And there are definitely times while we're on a walk, and it looks like she's "on the hunt."

She is so cute! And even more so in person. Well, I think so anyway.

What a wonderful entry. I could find so much love in it! It's a pity that you couldn't find a decent cute German name for her. But I like how your dad is calling her. Silvie is just a sweet name! ^_^

Aw, I'm glad it came across! Silvia certainly does get a lot of adoration in her new home! I've been showing her picture around to the women in my stitch-n-bitch groups. One of them asked me if she was spoiled. I told her the dog isn't spoiled per say. We certainly set boundaries for her. She rarely gets "people" food, and we never feed her from the table. But she's really loved. And I think she knows it.

I really did try to find a cute German name. And that website you left me was wonderful. But when it comes down to it, German is a warrior language. It's not supposed to be cute. The only thing I thought was kinda cute was Heidi. But she's definitely not a Heidi. And Silvia certainly seems to fit.

I like how your dad is calling her. Silvie is just a sweet name!

The problem is, she doesn't seem to be responding quite as well to "Silvie." I'm sure she'll figure it out, though! Or maybe she already has, and she's just ignoring my dad!

What exactly is a warrior language?

Basically, it's a language used by warriors with lots of guttural sounds and meant to intimidate. Maybe I used the wrong term? Or maybe I heard it from my mom, who just made it up? I don't know.

Isn't she?! She's such a sweetheart, too. I love having her around.

Yeah, I think that's one of the reasons my dad really doesn't like cats. I have met several who were real sweethearts. But you can never guarantee that they'll be nice.

Silvia's a great name, though. There's a librarian named Silvia at a library I have a stitching group at. When I showed her pictures of the dog, she was like "Oh! It's my namesake!" It was very cute!

I was just realizing the other day that it's been way too long since we've talked. How've you been?

She DOES get cuter and cuter! That picture was after she'd had her first bath here at the house, so she was all clean and soft and wiggly! Since you've met her, she's put a little meat on and her hair's grown out, making her look like she's filled out a bit. And she's become more and more comfortable and at home. It's fantastic!
