"Actually found it rather" or "Folded, with Sugar hanging"

I decided I was getting a little tired of the music I have on my computer. So I thought I'd check out some of the iTunes radio stations. My favourite station so far? FolkAlley. It's funny, because some of it's kinda country-sounding, which I normally can only tolerate in very small doses. But it's different enough and they actually have quite ( Read more... )

pics, links, my every sound, creations, pieces of me, any colour you bring, sekrits, communities, really deep thoughts, boy i've been one for years, random life events, happy hooker

What a wonderful octopus! And yay that your friend liked it too. I wonder how different a french knot in crochet is from a french knot in cross-stitching. And that seafoam baby blanket is so pretty too!

Thank you! I'm very happy with how both of them came out.

I think the French Knot is pretty much the same. The link I put in the post is a tutorial for embellishing crochet work, but I did look at some cross-stitch tutorials as well, and they seemed pretty similar. The crochet one was just easier for me to see and understand. Plus, she did several in a row as opposed to just one or two French Knots, so I didn't have to keep re-starting the video. But if you watch it and tell me different, then I'll know if I can use it in cross-stitch, too.

You'll be happy to know I just watched the clip and they are exactly the same! I've had cross-stitch projects where I've done a bunch of french knots at the center of flowers just like she did. They are a little blurry but you can see them on this one in particular.

Yay! I can do French Knots in cross-stitch now, too! Thanks! And of course, I adore your cross-stitch project!

Aw, thanks for the compliments on my work!

But you've got to stop feeling bad about yourself. Right. Freakin'. Now. Seriously, you're just so awesome! How can anyone beat that? I mean, who the hell else can turn a rainy trip to Disneyland one of the best days ever?

Aww Captain Rose looks adorable! That hat's from just one circle, that's pretty cool. Yay for circles. I love the last pic of the blanket. I am always in awe of your afghan skills. The photo could be straight out from a crochet magazine!

ZOMG, toriem's logged onto livejournal!

Aw, thanks! I always sorta amaze myself when they come out this good. Like, you know, I can't believe I actually did something that good! And of course, Captain Rose never would have been nearly as adorable without your help.

I had to take quite a few pictures of these things to get ones I really liked. But after sorting through about fifty snapshots, there were some that ended up looking really nice! Hooray for the right lighting and staging!
