When I pick my titles, it's a little of both, if that makes any sense. I started doing it way back when I got my first email account, but I don't even remember why I started doing it like that. My brother thought the two titles with the "or" between them was a Rocky and Bullwinkle reference, but I don't think it was, at least not consciously. Basically, I select two sets of two, three or four words from the post or occasionally a song or video I reference in the post. I do try and pick words that sound interesting together when taken out of context but still somewhat represent the post as a whole. So I guess it is more of a... Well, not a "science" per-say so much as a method/guideline/judgement call.
Holy cow! Now that you mention it, I think I may have started doing the alternate titles to my emails because of older books! Like "Little Women" has the alternate title "Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy" and "Peter Pan" is also titled "Peter and Wendy." Thanks for that reminder!

btw, I was wondering, how do you decide on your titles? Do you just pick a random sentence fragment, or is there a science to it? :)

I have never watched Rocky and Bullwinkle, but I've seen the "or" in titles of several older books. I just wondered "why those specific words?" :)
