help!

ok so i really need some help here!

ive been trying to make awesome icons. so i go and do tutorials and all... but then some of the tutorials mess up my icons!

ex:
the icon they used as an example is dark. they duplicate it and lighten it and do all that fancy stuff and it turns out AMAZING!
the icon i used is normal. i do everything and it turns out

when u want to install a brush,
make sure that the brush u want to use is un-ziped and is in a folder where u can easily find them.
then open one of the brushes and the go to edit>define brush
and then the brush is in there!
and do that for every brush!

When you download the brushes, open the folder which contains the brushes and right click on it and select extract. (Now you've un-zipped them)
To use them, open photoshop and go the brushes (if they're images) and go to edit>define brush.
If they're not images and a sort of icon then open photoshop go to Edit>Preset Manager and wait for a box to pop up. Then click on Load and find the folder where you've downloaded the brushes. Then double click on the brush icon that you've got before when un-zipping the file.
