Have you checked out any of the Lumiere brothers work? I love their stuff. OH, also check out Salvador Dali's dabbles in film. Un Chien de Andalou is outrageous, though I probably spelled it wrong.

I'll look out for the bomb docs. I lived in Nagasaki for one year, so there would be some personal interest.
I got a kick out of the "Voyage to the Moon," which I see you read about. Very imaginative, and I think one of the first visionaries to show us the potential of film for storytelling.
I will also look for the Dali film. Wow - that would be interesting!
