This is great. I'm not even familiar with the fandom, but that sense of love being something that's primarily too dangerous comes across as very real.

They're considered "creatures of the underworld", and it's generally agreed throughout the fandom that the "bad guys" (whether the creators mean to or not, the line gets fuzzy between "good" and "bad") acknowledge love as a weakness that can be used against them.
