So I promised some time ago to upload pictures from my trip. I have one problem: they were taken on my phone, which my computer isn't recognizing. I've heard it could be a problem with the HDMI cord. At some point I'll try plugging it into someone else's computer, and see if that's really the case. Right now, though, it really just makes me want to ( Read more... )

It is. But it seems to me that - unless it's not a children's fairytale - everything has some sexual basis.
I usually have some vague ideas, never a plan. I write my fic with a pencil only, I can't type it. Then some layers are added.

I'm sort of intrigued by the idea of creating a main character that remains sexually ambiguous throughout the entire story. Sexuality itself could be present in the character's life, but as a writer never fully acknowledging the character's interests. Letting readers make up their own minds. (I've certainly seen it done with secondary characters.)

Maybe I've been in the fanfic world too long, but it really does strike me as a fun challenge.

I hear you. But - my opinion - even if you leave a character's sexuality ambiguous, it'll show itself. I don't know, human actions scream of sexuality. Their looks do. Their touches do. You are too much of a good writer to not mention these. Looks, touches, blah...

I wonder whether I'd end up with something like The Picture of Dorian Gray, where everyone can feel the homoeroticism. The difference that it's okay for Oscar Wilde, because he lived in a time where it was illegal to be gay. And thus, I'd be rejected for not being daring enough to actually say that the character is gay.
