I am thoroughly impressed with the depth you've pulled out of this story. I'm so glad Laura was able to give Spike comforting words before she died. I think it was important to her. Her and Adama dying together felt right somehow. Him being a Cylon felt oddly appropriate as well even though I know there's no way that's canon. I really liked Lee trying to understand Spike. Lee has a good heart, it's just sometimes hard to see. :)

Thanks! One of the reasons this took so long to write is that the story couldn't stay quite as silly as it did at first, not if Spike were to accomplish something important for the Colonists.

There was a lot of discussion around the time I started this about Bill being a Cylon, and in the context of my story I thought that made sense. If the Cylon plan had been hatched a long time ago, it would make sense for them to have one of their own (even if unaware of his nature) lead the group of survivors they'd chosen to nurture the hybrids.

I agree about Lee.

Though I wonder how Spike could tell with the hybrid kids, since he says they smell human to him.

It was pretty obvious you were the most powerful man in the Fleet. I was a hitchhiker. I have priorities, and not being tossed out an airlock is one of them."

And it showed remarkable presence of mind, too, considering how instinctively Spike leapt at the Sharon in the first meeting.

I had been hoping the Cylons didn't show up on Spike's Earth... because a) who knows how long their penancing would last, or what form it would take... but seeing as he's taking it so hard, I almost hope they do, just so he doesn't have to add "driving an entire species to suicide" to his list of things to feel guilty for.

Plus, it would be funny to see him try to explain it to Buffy. "Hail, Messenger!" "You know these guys?" "Erm..."

"'Our baby?'" When the Asian girl was joined by what appeared to be her identical twin, Buffy reached out and snagged Spike by the wrist, pulling him away from a growing crowd of adoring bimbos. "I think it's about time I heard the whole story of your little inter-dimensional jaunt."

I am utterly befuddled by the show but I will watch to the end to find out who the final Cylon is.

Glad you liked the icons. I found some new ones the other day, black and white, with quotes from All Along the Watchtower, and I would love to upload them. But it would mean deleting others and I can't bring myself to do it.
