heh it could be based on what the expectations for the contents of a person's wallet at the event would be and the theoretical donation that could be made. the first two definitely fall in the loose bills in the wallet category, or the can-ya-break-a-twenty category. $100 would seem to be a good outside reminder for those who can dig deeper into their wallets. all in all 10-15-100 could be a fairly reasonable three points of data to suggest.
an economist might even get a little kick out of working out what would be the three most sucessful suggestions.
Without thinking too hard, I think asking for 11, 23, or 47 dollars would be good, because you'd actively get people thinking about an exact amount they could cough up.
then again it i probably more fun and trivial to come up with entertaining series that contain 10,15,100 in them
