So at last... There is a new arrival in my household. A sweet, slightly plump 3-year-old calico cat who is currently hiding under my bed. Her name is apparently Allie, but I think I will have to find a new name for her, because having her have the same name as a longtime close human friend of mine would be confusing all around ( Read more... )

Oh! I'm so glad it worked out with the kitty, or, at least seems to be starting out well. She really is a sweet girl and you're such a good cat care giver I'm sure it will be no time before you're all one big happy furry family.

Oo! You should rename her Arachne or Ariadne. <3 Both similar in sound so it should be easy for the cat to adjust, and both AWESOME.

At least 'Alice' is a plausible name of which 'Allie' could be a diminutive. 'Emilia' is close (the 'ili' part). The first Shakespearean woman('s name) I thought of was 'Ophelia' (Hamlet). There's also 'Calphurnia' (Julius Caesar), not to mention 'Titania' (ooh, queen of the Fairies!). Anyway, I'm sure the right name will present itself. I hope day two goes well.
