Yikes on the hospital stay. It's not nice to have scares like that. Try yoga if the Tai Chi doesn't work for you. Or pilates. These kinds of things are very much different strokes for different folks. I love yoga, but my mum swears by Tai Chi (she has a crazy sensei who teaches it like a proper martial art).
It's very frustrating. I'm not sure my joints could bend enough for yoga, alas. The Tai Chi down the road is for arthritis and chronic pain sufferers, so Ii'm hopeful.
You don't have to start off bendy, but you hopefully get that way. But yes, if there is a special class for arthritis sufferers near you that sounds ideal.
