The very good news is that I do not have to have surgery unless I really want to. (Spoilers: I do NOT). Though I have plenty of funky things going on, none of them appear strictly related to the Chiari malformation, and so surgery would be unlikely to relieve them

Oh man, that's some difficult and intense news to have to take in. I'm glad to hear you're not faced with immediate surgery, anyway. I hope the doctor visits that are still coming up will prove useful enough to be worth the effort. ((()))

And also, congrats on the new place and the raise and the good skating! Those are all awesome!
