i just got a rejection letter from UT Austin.
This is horrible news.
Goodbye first choice.

If this is a sign of what is to come, I am terrified!

Hey Jenmarie,

Do worry I think your work is solid and I am pretty certain you will get into the right school for you! Besides, it seems to me you said IU was a good fit for you? Yes? So, that still maybe the one.
Ten years ago I got into IU it's a great school to be sure, I really liked the program at least then. I also got into MICA...the Maryland Inst., but personally circumstances did not allow for me to go anywhere at that time so I missed the boat! That was really awful and especially now because I do not feel my work is as strong as it was then as I have changed it measurably so, I don't know if I will get into anywhere this time! And by the way I just got rejected from Yale...not my first school but I was hoping to get through at least the first round so, this news is not great for me either!!!

i don't know you but i found your blog looking for mfa stuff. in my mind i had already moved to austin.
i also got rejected from mcad the same day. eeehhh.

aw. damn...that sucks. i had moved to austin too in my mind. lol maybe thats why it hurts so much.

i applied to mcad, austin, u of illinois at champaign urbana, art institute of chicago, hunter and brooklyn college. haven't heard back from the other 4, but now i am very scared. austin was really no surprise, 10 slots for 270 apps with priority to texas, but i was a little shocked i didn't get mcad. what about you?

ive applied to UT (RIP), indiana u., mica, virginia commonwealth, and boston u.
what program are you looking into. i've applied for mfa painting.
