Nice list! I wish I'd thought of the "learn the Latin names of herbs" one. I had "plant some herbs" on my list, which I've done, but only the basil seems to be going for it....

I am/was a lawyer too, but my firm cut jobs in December 08, including mine. I consider myself lucky though because it wasn't the firm for me, but I was too "loyal" to leave of my own accord. The list is helping me figure out what I really want to do.

Wow. That's what I'm thinking of doing as well. I like my job, but I think there's something more out there, and I want to find it.

Now if I just knew where to look . . . Trying to figure out exactly what you want to do is hard, isn't it? I've friended you, if you don't mind -- and let me know if I can help in anyway.

That's cool, I will friend you back and maybe we can help each other devise a new path for wayward lawyers!

I'd be happy to help/recommend stuff with the Japanese bit! Also, it's good you're volunteering at the library...the libraries, especially in and around Philly, need all the help they can get.

I wonder how many Philly residents/natives are in this group? With you and me that's at least 2...

I haven't seen any other Philly-residents, but there may be some lurkers. I'm over in the King of Prussia/Norristown area myself -- but no one's ever heard of these towns!

I have to figure out which library yet to volunteer at -- I actually belong to three systems, all of which need help, but I only have time for one!

And any help or recommendations for Japanese are appreciated! I requested some CDs from the library, but they haven't arrived as yet. I want to be able to hold a basic conversation, as well as read some of it, so I can take a trip there in the next five years. (Once I get my finances straightened out, that is!)

Congrats on starting your list. Better late than never. If you ever want someone to show you around Seattle, hit me up. My partner is a big knitter. I'm sure she could give you a tour of our best yarn stores. Lol. :)

Ack! You're tempting me with yarn!

The offer is great though -- and if I get there, I'll email you. Same goes for me -- if you get out to the Philadelphia area, I'd be happy to show you around!
