Wren's Evil-Twin Mission 101 List
Since I created, started, revised and recommitted to my “traditional-style” mission101 list, I’ve noticed that I have achieved some unexpected but significant accomplishments that aren’t included on that list. Life takes unexpected turns sometimes. It occurred to me that it would be kind to create a companion list where I can track incidental successes. This, then, is that list:
Incidental Mission 101 List
October 2006 --
014 Purchase a season pass to a local petting zoo/pumpkin patch and take my son there many times through the month. Get some serious goat bonding into my life and immerse myself in seasonal atmosphere all month.
013 Create good, coordinated Halloween costumes for my husband, my son and myself without spending any money. Dress up as something other than a witch or a vampire for a change.
012 Express gratitude for long-standing friendships that have survived more than their share of difficulties. Let my friends know that I am starting to understand that womanhood doesn't entirely depend on homemaking abilities. (Admit that keeping a clean house is really damn hard when the week is otherwise taken up with a job, a career or a calling.)
011 Be privileged to watch my daughter take up the mantle of Halloween.
September 2006 --
010 OCD ALL over my Mission 101 List.
*It is now a thing of beauty and I can track the hell out of my accomplishments.
009 Create a livejournal for my son's best friend.
008 Figure out how to accelerate my son through portions of his curriculum ... and how to track his progress in a logical, useful manner.
007 Accept the honor of being Mz D--'s matron of honor ... and then gracefully back out of the position when she realizes that she'd really rather ask her ex-sister-in-law. All the while, continue to accept the matron's responsibilities because the ex-sister-in-law lives far, far away.
Oh. Christ. This means I have to throw a bridal shower doesn't it?!?
August 2006--
006 Barter my homemaking skills in exchange for a car.
005 Find & research a promising educational alternative for my G&T son.
004 Take a bath, and much personal grooming time, with the door locked.
003 Hear my lover-friend interviewed on the radio about her newly published book.
002 See a sculpture that looks like my husband and realize I am attracted to that build.
001 Pick up a cat holding a live mouse in its mouth and remove them both from the room...again.
I don't know if this is allowed, please let me know if I need to remove it from the community and track it only within my own journal. My normal list is at: Wren's Mission 101 List.
