Reading Ideas for 2011

Here's my list of books that I may read this year.

Ones I have started last year (or earlier):
Humility and How to Get It by Charles Spurgeon
The Treasury of David: Volume 1 - Psalms 1-57 (I may not finish it this year, but that would be nice. I'm over half of the way through, but it's a long book.)
The Portable Patriot: Documents, Speeches, and ( Read more... )

I think you will like Persuasion.
I think we had the Treasury of David and I read it and passed it on...
I am hoping to get some of Randy Alcorn's book on PBS for fiction reading this year.
I am reading Charity's Diary by Elisabeth Allen,
The Kneeling Christian
Letters from Louisa May Alcott

and that is all I have so far, besides my bible.

I like some of Randy Alcorn's books, too. Well, I think I do, lol. I can hardly remember if I read any of his, but I know my mom has, and liked them. I really want to read "Safely Home" by him.

How do you like the three books you're reading so far? I've looked at "Charity's Diary" lately, and it looks interesting & promising, perhaps.

Hehe, well I haven't started reading any of those yet except briefly reading Charity's Diary, but it looks to be a good book! :)
Oh, Safely Home, that is the one I was trying to remember to look up, thanks!

You should add to that: "Him We Proclaim" by Dennis Johnson. I mean, it's a preaching book, but it has insights that are good for basic hermeneutics that I think are phenomenal.

Thanks for the recommendation! I added it to my "to-read" list on goodreads.com, but probably not for this year, since I don't own the book. Maybe I could find it at the library...but I probably have enough to read this year already. :)
