YES, yes yes. God. I mean, I'm not close to very many Strand Boys anymore, but so many Strand Boys I've known have been like this...and I think it has clouded my image of men in general. On some level I don't really believe that there are self-aware men in the world...I mean, I know some (even a former Strand Boy) who are definitely working towards self awareness. but yeah. this environment is toxic in that way. but on the bright side, it makes even the smallest glimmer of true compassion or self-reflection in a man seem AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL. but it shouldn't be like that, we should be able to expect the same humanity from men as from women.

UGH YES. I think Manbaby Island would be a good band name, but the explaining part would be really hard all the time.

So funny that we're all like YES. I mean, there are occasional glimpses of self awareness from each and every male at the store who chooses to otherwise engage himself, but the general vibe is a complete lack. The impressive days were always when a male or two would realize it and shake their head with me.

Of course, I still have my days of a willful lack of self-awareness just like everybody else. I'm way too judgmental to let it pass in everyone else without comment though. Everybody suffered through many of those days at Strand with me, so I guess I'm inviting judgment now that I've judged the boys.

Maybe I should be going to bed instead of posting weird comments on your livejournal account. I think I'm gonna do that.
