For the third time in six years, my job has made me cry.

I was originally supposed to work 12 to 3 today with my CLS guy. A stroke of luck freed up most of that time when he was asked to work today, so all I had to do is pick him up from his home and drop him off at his job. His job coach will take him home after his shift.

There's a woman in my wind orchestra - older lady - absolutely lovely - but she wears this heavy, cloying perfume that makes me ill. It used to be fine, because she was across the orchestra, but she sits just infront of me now. Everytime she shifts, its in my mouth, in my throat, and I am going to gag - headache pounding in.

She's been gone having BOTH hips replaced, and I was so loathe to go say anything, but after the last rehearsal I just wanted to cry. I went up to her and tried really hard to be upbeat and pleasant, but SHE UNDERSTOOD. She's not going to put it on on Wednesdays. I'm so grateful she understands - not being able to move and constantly having it in my nose - not to mention I am breathing deeply to play, and usually through my nose!

Most people are pretty understanding given the right setting. At work, we often have to send notes home to remind group home staff and guardians to not apply scented things before sending their consumers in to us, but they comply more often than not.

What I hate the most right now is finding that products that I used to LOVE are now my enemy. I can't walk by a Bath and Body Works without having to cover my nose and mouth.

Scented candles and incense? Forget most of them. Although I am good with 90% of Scentsy products, which is great!
