Because that's the way of things! Right before I left for PR and was out of the office for about 2 weeks, I had spent the days before running around and making sure people knew of things as things were being sent off while I was gone... especially the day I was leaving, I had planned a half day and ended up working a full day... of course, I come back and find out nope it wasn't sent off anyway and other things that were suppose to be finalized and done got pushed back a month... I was all *headdesk*
