Scale says I've lost eight pounds since Saturday. Is that even possible to lose that amount in such a short time? I'm guessing some of it must be water weight. Still, it's encouraging. ^_

Eight pounds is great, even if, like you say, some of it was water.
Having a small piece of dark chocolate is supposed to be good for you and I imagine it'd stop the sweet cravings that some people get when they're on diets.
that sounds right if you have a steady exercise routine since saturday. the first week you looks a good amount of weight and if you keep a steady pace you can lose up to a half a pound a day if you keep your metabolisim up and eat regularly. running and high protien is good but do what works for you.
Hmm...I haven't really had a steady excerise routine, though. I've been trying to get out and walk, about every other day, for at least 30 minutes. But my job is pretty physcially demanding: lots of walking and heavy lifting.
Yeah, I've heard dark chocolate is good for you too. It really does help with the cravings. They're actually not as bad as they were the first few days.
