I don't know Joe Pitt from Adam but I love the way you write! Jesus, you're gifted. Why don't you write more? This is chock full of little gems but this in particular made me giggle out loud:

“Oh my God. Ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod ohmy-“

I knock her out again. There’s only so much of that a guy can take.

So glad you like it! I feel honour-bound to mention that if you're giggling at my efforts to approximate Joe's voice, you will be on the floor howling at Charlie Huston's wit. He's completely mastered the deadpan smart-mouthed Chandler-esque narrative voice, and Joe's a great character - a complete anti-hero who at least usually ends up trying to do the right thing by his own lights.
Writing more is hopefully on the cards...It's sooo nice feeling more energetic about everything now that good weather and sun are here :-) How goes your own writing?! Keep me posted!

I'm going to go have a look at Amazon and see if I can find a couple of these to have a look at. I'm so happy to hear that you'll be writing more. Mine alas, is stalled again (still) but I'll definitely let you know when (if) the situation changes.

I haven't read these books either but I thoroughly enjoyed this and found myself laughing in delight over bits. Especially because Joyce! Joyce and her no-nonsense yet motherly attitude! Joyce is made of win!

Thanks! I'm having a lot of fun writing it, so it's good to hear that you're having fun reading it. The books are definitely well worth reading if you're okay with gore and much political incorrectness...
I love Joyce! I realised recently that any feminist critiques I've read of Buffy have completely ignored her, which seems strange - I've thought for ages that she's arguably the strongest female role model on the show, in a sneaky, subtle, supporting character kind of way. And that was totally off-topic, but, you know, Joyce Love! Joyce for Prime Minister! etc. etc.
(Also, icon love! The thought of that scene makes me grin broadly.)
