...Thank God, in another couple of hours it'll be over.

Two minor woes and one rather puzzling, and much more major, one.

#1:  I think I have a cavity. My dentist resides on another continent. There's something wrong with this situation.

#2: I've been suckered into helping at the University MA open day, representing "this university and my department

I keep checking the online local papers to see if anything new has happened - I don't really know him, I just met him the once, but he seemed like a decent guy.

can your university point you towards a nearby university/major city hospital with an emergency dental clinic? those places can be surprisingly helpful when things go badly wrong and you've no dentist, and their quality of work, if not north american, is very high. and free. i'd lug you off to my dentist, who is a hero and moreover a sweetheart, but we're in london, which is not on your doorstep.

The uni is pretty good with referrals; it's more that we have a shortage of dentists and a very long NHS waiting list unless it's an emergency - thanks for the offer of your dentist though! I'm actually planning on seeing if an aunt down in Glasgow can get me in with hers, and if not, I'll phone the Dental Emergency line and claim toothache (it's actually a gum ache right now, so I don't feel too bad about fudging emergencies slightly.)
