Eh. I really, REALLY dislike most romantic movies (i.e. "chick flicks"). I'm such a guy when it comes to movies. I was a little bit intrigued by the supernatural element, but then, it appears here that doesn't seem to be a big part of the movie, so I'll sit out this one. I do randomly pick up movies here and there, so your movie logs kind of help me decide which ones I should skip.

And Keanu Reeves...I've never seen him "act." Sure, 'Constantine' was a great movie, but he kinda ruined it.

The same goes for me, but I still believe in a good romance flick done right. It's a tricky and difficult genre, and I guess that's why so many of them turn out mediocre to bad.

And it's not the lack of supernatural stuff that made me wish I sat it out...it was mainly slow and boring.

Ah man, I thought Keanu was fantastic in Constantine. But then again, I thought Constantine was a mediocre movie, by general standards, in spite of my fangirl love for it. Huh, I forget what I wrote about Constantine.

God, Keanu had his flat, "Matrix," disinterested, forced monotone throughout "Constantine." Okay, he was fine until he started talking. Then I get the cringes. But I thought Constantine was an awesome, awesome movie. I watched it like 30 times while I painted my god-grandparents' portraits. Rachel Weiz was amazing in it. The CGI was pretty awesome. The story was pretty cool. It was visually interesting. It's all I could ever want.

Dude! I had no idea you loved Constantine! I don't know if you already know this, but after I watched it the second time, I watched that movie obsessively over the next two weeks. I still can't put my finger on why I'm so drawn to it. Maybe it was the Holy Shotgun. Maybe it was the the brass knuckes with the crosses engraved in it. Maybe it was the way Shia LeBoeuf tagged after John like an eager little puppy. Maybe it was the way Rachel got into Keanu's face and said, "God damn you." I don't know. I. don't. know.

ok...well i'm not really into romantic movies, mostly because they are all boy/girl type thing and i see that all around me 24-7 and i'm sick of it!!!! :P ...but if i had to choose i would say the bridges of madison county. some of the lines were cheesy but i still loved it. and in my neck of the woods i like aimee and jaguar. it's a foreign film and it's a true story of one woman falling in love with another woman during wwII, one was, well i don't know if she was a nazi supporter but she wasn't jewish, the other was jewish. and since i doubt you'll ever see the movie i'll spoil it for you. the jewish woman won't leave even though she's in danger of being found out because she doesn't want to leave her gf. so eventually she does get picked up and she dies in a concentration camp. her gf waited for her for years but she never returned. and she was never with anyone else again. hm, i guess i just have a thing for heartbreak. wow, this was really long, sorry :P

My sister loved bridges of madison county. Of course, I made fun of her for swooning over an old fogey like Clint Eastwood, even though I didn't see the movie. I think I'm ready to check it out and see what all the fuss was about.

You don't have to apologize for length, that was pretty interesting. There is something about tragedy that mixes well with romance. I believe you when you say it was heartbreaking, because those foreign films really know how to be depressing. ;) My friend booed when Sandra saved Keanu's life via a letter from the future - she likes it when either one or both characters die in a love story.
