I'm trying to figure out how to do word count on me. I mean, since my novel is already "mid stream," I don't WANT to add on 50,000 words. Truth be told, my goal is to get it AROUND 50,000 words by month end. So, do I start at the overall word count, or just the word count I've added in November?

Seems like anything I've read said to count only the words you write in November. It's up to you, though. No one knows one way or the other. Thing is, will your story end at the 50,000 word mark, or will it continue on? I know last year, I met the mark, but didn't get an ending to my novel. This year, I plan to complete the novel even if it goes well over the 50,000 word mark. My goal this year is more a finished work that can be editted later, rather than just 50,000 words.
