Catching up on life

My icon is kind of where I'd like to be right now. Just away somewhere else, where the sun is beautiful, the lake is calm, and the trees are in bloom. Not that California is bad right now, in fact we are in probably the prettiest time of the year, but real life is especially trying right now ( Read more... )

I don't envy you that workload, but like you, I'd welcome the extra $$$.
You are now a single mother of three, no less:) ha.

From the photos, it appears that Pandora has a bit more white on her? They're just gorgeous and I know you'll provide them with a great home.

See, and all the work made it so I can't even reply in a timely manner! But yes, extra money is good. I laughed out loud at the single mother of three. Too true!

Pandora does have more white. She has a white under neck/chin, and a dash of white on her front paws with her back legs very white. The foster family that had her called her Two Socks. It might be snobby of me, but it bothers me when people name their cats things like that. I mean, really? Some originality wouldn't kill anyone.

I just spewed wine onto my monitor at your distain of those with little creativity. No one could ever accuse US of that:) I mean, really, Two Socks? Might as well have called her Kitty, or Tiger.

OMG. The Doctor with a kitten. I love the episode with Nine when he chatted with the alley cat (the one with the gas masks).

LOL, no, we go for the names that leaves people wondering. Every time I take Padua to the vet I have to explain where the name comes from (a town in Italy, if I've never mentioned that).

The Doctor has quite a few interactions with cats. Both the actual feline, and cat people. I think your next episode there's a cat, in the third season there's the return of the Cat people/Nuns, and the icon photo of him holding one comes from that.

*hugs and relates and understands*

Maybe there's something in the air right now? The Oh-My-God-Life-Is-INSANE virus or something. Symtpoms? Stress, anxiety, and a speeding up of time around you so it feels like you never have enough time in the day to get done everything you wand and need to do. And apparently it's highly contagious too.

I know things are likely to be nuts for you for a while, but here's hoping that you get a breather soon. If nothing else, maybe we can spoil you rotten a bit next weekend...

I could totally go for that explanation of a virus. The symptoms totally fit. I got a bit of a breather today, though I almost had an anxiety/panic attack at leaving at 5:00. My brain kept screaming "BUT YOU HAVE SO MUCH TO DO!!!!!" Then I realized that will always be the case and I just need to not spend my life at work.

And yay for spoiling! Even if it's just fun with friends, that's the best possible birthday gift!

I can sympathize with the work load. I haven't been able to indulge my creativity lately either, icons and fanart have fallen by the wayside I'm sad to say.

Good luck with the job change, it sounds like it will be a good thing for you.

Yay for more kitties! They sound very sweet. :)

I think the hardest part about the craziness is not having the time to do those creative things, whatever they are for each person. I always realize what a release they are for me when I don't seem to have the time to do them. I'm hoping we both have more time to indulge in the future. Both of us need to not work so hard!

Mellie, I had no idea that things were this rough for you! I'm really sad that your new job wasn't working out, but if going back will improve your life (and give you less crazy hours), go for it!

And hey, at least you get paid for overtime! In my job they are all: "thanks for doing this for your country, THAT should be your reward", LOL!

I just popped in to see what is happening with you. I'll send some good thoughts your way (May the Force be with You) for the last part of time that you are spending doing two jobs.

Hi Liesel! Thanks for the support. Things do seem to be a bit rough right now, but I'm hoping they will smooth out and improve with time. The overtime is the real killer. The money is great, but my sanity sometimes can't deal with the intensity of 13 hour days. Every once in awhile I just want to scream "SERENITY NOW!!"
