OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG.
I love that book!!! OMG. I have been waiting for a movie to come out based on it. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND BANA!!! AND MCADAMS!!! They are both so beautiful!!! OMG. so excited lol. I am a dork. but that book is one of my favourites. AHHHHHH! and when I read it I was like oh this would make a good film but how would they do it technically and with the time travelling and me, studying film and thinking i am all cool and well, just the nerd that I am, started thinking of how they would compose the scenes and work it all out, lol, and now it's a movie!! but now i have such high expectations of it now, but still, rachel is in it! and i'll watch anything with her in it. ahhh, excited. lol. i'm calm now....

I KNOW, RIGHT. The trailer has been stuck in my head since I saw it. I literally woke up today going "I didn't mean that". LOL I am lame. BUT SO GLAD YOU SHARE MY EXCITEMENT. DOESN'T IT LOOK *BEAUTIFUL*. I think we should both go see it on the same day and chat about it later. I can't believe I didn't know you'd read the book as well! I actually read it during year 11, I think it was, and I adored it. I am a tiny bit sad that of course we're not going to see Gomez and co, and probably certain verbatim scenes either because of the film's PG-13ness. (I think it would probably be an M in Australia though). It looks like they've gotten around the time travellery confusion by focusing on Clare's life in a linear way and looking at how Henry jumps in and out of it ( ... )

that definitely makes sense! focusing on clare's life. that's what i was thinking when i read the book, that it would be hard to focus on his because it's just all over the place...ahhhhh but yes, i am glad we both share in the excitement! we should DEFINITELY go see it the same day and then discuss! i'm gonna go see it on my own i think... if i can get away with doing that, probably during the day, because i wanna concentrate and i know that no one i go with will share in my excitement with me, so it's best if i just contain it within myself and then squee/discuss with you lol. and yes, i can totally see myself falling in love with bana...especially as that character.
lol klaus!
and na, i haven't seen state of play. i haven't been to the movies in ages, well, i lie, i went to the movies friday night and last night, but that has been for other peoples birthdays so they have chosen the movie.. have you seen it?

yeah, i think it really is the book where the majority of events are better written down - audrey niffeneggger (author) makes things easy to understand but i just knew it would be a terrible movie if they did what the book did and focused on henry bouncing about. the focus on clare is way better. OMG STILL EXCITED!!!
did you know time traveller's wife was where i took a bunch of inspiration from for amber cloud? well, it's where i took the gene idea from anywhere. when i was reading it i was thinking that in real life they would have scientists (like amber) interested in seeing if there was any kind of gene therapy you could do to fix the deformed gene that causes his time travel, at least to an extent so he'd be able to remain in the same time for longer. and then i ran with that to the idea of someone dead coming back to life and that being caused by unique gene patterns, but i'm still working on it lol. obviously. i do know how amber cloud is going to end though!

I dunnooooooo. I'm so afraid of this movie being bad or rushed or something less than perfect. I have such high expectations because I looooove the book insane amounts and I have these images of who Henry and Clare are and while I really like Bana and McAdams as actors (and find them pretty), they are not Henry and Clare to me (yet?). Also, the way he Fades/Time Travels feels wrong to me somehow. Not how I pictured it I guess.

I get you! I think there are a lot of people who feel that way about it, especially since we've been waiting so long for the movie. It's bound to be disappointing to some people. What actually does get to me a little is Henry and Clare in this film do seem a bit different to the Henry and Clare in the book - more playful and a bit less unique - but I suppose they had to make these characters a bit more relatable. I really like where they've gone with it so far, though hopefully this isn't one of those movies where the best scenes are already in the trailer (or one of those sucky movies with a deceptively good trailer). And yeah, the fading/time travelling is a bit...odd LOL. It's kinda creepy actually. Clare is meant to be awed by it as a girl whereas if I were six and I saw that I WOULD BE SCREAMING. He disintegrates! It's weird!
