So I have had a big weekend. Well, not really, I just went to Armageddon again, which is a sci-fi/anime/comic convention down at the Exhibition Center. IT WAS AWESOME! I won't do a whole huge recap for you like last year because Idon't want to bore anyone, but I got to see David Hewlett, Kavan Smith and Andee Frizzel from Stargate Atlantis and I ( Read more... )

I just wanna say about the lightning thing, ARE YOU CRAZY??? Summer = Thunderstorms all the time! With lots of humidity and spooky sheet/fork lightning!!! At least in central Vic it means that...I remember plenty of Summer nights in Bendigo with purple skies and lightning bolts. /tisall

LULZ. I most probably am crazy! But this town we went to for Trav's thing was definately country-esque (it was like, small town outer Melbourne) so it makes sense. It just doesn't happen a lot where I am (metro eastern suburbs). It must have been a hugeass lightning stike though cause it completely destoryed the fusebox to the point that our train never got to the city and we heard announcements at the station to the extent that no trains were running on that line for the rest of the night.

Yeah, I saw that on the news and I was thanking ze Lord that I wasn't on any trains that day...nothing worse than delays and being stranded on trains.

Aww, was David Hewlett nice? I imagine him to be really huggable in real life.

At least win an Oscar before you quit!
AGREED! He is too talented to stop now! Think of all the roles he could still do. *pout* Maybe he'll rest for awhile and then come out of retirement like Daniel Day Lewis did.

Good to know your Nano Novel is going well. What is it about?

I randomly decided the first day of November to join! I usually need to have a story all planned out, but right now I'm just writing off the top of my head with no idea what comes next. It's WEIRD. Luckily, I've magically been able to keep up with the word count every day so far.

I'm also thinking of signing up for Yuletide, but deciding what I want to REQUEST, is harder than deciding what fandoms I'll write for! There are so many options!!! What are you thinking of requesting?

David Hewlett was literally very huggable! At the end of his panel he was taking photos with and hugging like a zillion fans as he headed out; he was lovely. And halfway through the panel a lady had to go outside with her toddler because he was screaming and David was all like "Don't leave!" And then he let the dad following her with the pram ask him a question, and then gave him a free A Dog's Breakfast DVD (which hasn't been shown anywhere in Oz yet). I got about ten minutes of video of the panel on my phone that I'll probably put on on youtube soon.

How's your NaNo novel going? My novel is the same one I was working on earlier this year for novel class - about a science student whose husband comes back from the dead - so I have a bit of an outline for it. I'm not following it too strictly though. I jsut passed 10k so I hope you're going good as well!

deciding what I want to REQUEST, is harder than deciding what fandoms I'll write for! Agreed! It's crazy hard decided; I've been making a lot of lists because i want to make sure I ( ... )
