So, I had a really good weekend. Pure laziness, really. Saturday, I made French toast, wrote for four hours, made crepes for dinner, and then watched the new BBC Emma--WHICH EVERYONE SHOULD SEE ( Read more... )

I am coming back the 21st. My dad sort of screwed up ticket dates :(
Epic reunion, when I get back that evening!
Take pictures of your Hadley adventure tomorrow, so I can live vicariously through it!

Is this the Emma with Romola Garai? It was nice especially the beginning and end, but I liked the Sense and Sensibility better...I'm still waiting for this to become affordable.

I really want to know the different stages of Enchanted...at the very least an early script or something because how can you have Idina Menzel and only have her sing part of one song???
Also, they had Michaela Conlin from Bones and she only had one like one line. Why would you get someone like that where people would recognize her and only have one line? It just seems like there was more to it in an earlier version. I still haven't purchased the dvd/BluRay so I don't know what the deleted scenes or special features might have.

Oh, those internships sound so awesome. For one semester, I was able to work at a "Victorian lifestyle" museum...so much fun!

Yes, this is the Emma with Romola Garai. I loved their Knightley. I've forgotten how awesome he is.
Is that the new BBC Sense and Sensibility? I love that one as well, and the 1995 version.

I'm not sure about Enchanted, but maybe there are some deleted scenes. The whole time, I was just like "how can they not let IDINA MENZEL sing?"

Yes, I'm a bit of a history geek, so I'm really hoping I get a good internship! Where is this Victorian museum? That sounds amazing!

Yeah, I never thought anyone could top Alan Rickman and then I just adored David Morrissey's Colonel Brandon. He seemed a little more vulnerable.

I definitely agree about Idina. There was one funny thing though. I was looking at at this kid's book. I think it was a coloring book and it showed the animated Nathaniel. I took one look and was like, Timothy Spall is in this?? I loved how I was able to recognize him that well in animated form without any idea that he was in it.

Yes, it's a Victorian lifestyle museum and accredited. There are very, very few of those and this was the only one dedicated to a hotel/slash railroad history. It's the Henry B. Plant Museum in Tampa, Fl. The hotel closed in 1926 or so, but in 1931, they started renting it to my college so you can take actual classes inside. A third of the first floor is devoted to the museum but original features are all along the first floor.

Hehe. As soon as I saw Nathaniel, I yelled "Hi Pettigrew!" It's funny--I can never associate him with anything else. I feel sort of bad for him, because he always plays the seedy sidekick.

Ahhh, that museum is absolutely gorgeous! I'm so jealous that you actually got to work there! I'm a history major, and my focus is on 18th-19th century Europe (though in a perfect world, it would be British studies), so I might have to add this museum to my potential internships lists.

I love the Elizabethan period as well--the Tudors were my first history obsession :)
