A few years ago I was really into Shadow (from the Sonic The Hedgehog games) and because of this my friends joked around and called me "Shaddie," which then spawned variations like "Shad," "Shadds," "The Shad-ster," and so on. I adopted it as my internet handle and it's stuck around among my friends even though my Shadow phase is long over. :P
