Title: Warmth Author: Miss Shad Fandom: xxxHolic Rating: PG Warnings: AU; Character Death Summary: He had little to give, but it made a world of difference to poor Kimihiro.
I just have a little bit to pick at .. in the last few lines, Shizuka is referring to "Kimihiro" in his thoughts, but that seems a bit personal for someone who never gave his name to Doumeki .. or is it that you're writing in 2nd POV and we, the readers, are getting the benefit of an outsider's clarified character reference as we look down upon the scene? If it's the former, maybe refer to 'nuki from 'meki's POV along the lines of "the unfortunate man he met yesterday"? It was just Watanuki referring to Doumeki as a stranger and then the fall-out. Sorry, I'm anal and got confused. Just curious.
I also like the matchbox touch and the sense of desperation that comes to 'nuki as each flame goes out. That he hallucinates loved ones up for comfort, or if at that moment he's alredy dead, is up in the air is a nice touch that allows for interpretation.

It's the latter of the two (3rd person POV). Sorry if it was confusing...
