2009 in fic, part two

Dec 30, 2009 14:13

QH17 has crossed the 8K word mark, but even if I finish it in the next 36 hours, it's not getting posted, so I think I can safely call it a year production-wise.

January-June

July-December
* Shooting the Moon (Star Trek 2009) My first (and thus far last) Kirk-POV fic.
* Five Ways It Didn't Go (SGA) Sheppard, Weir, McKay, Lorne, and Ford didn't ( Read more... )

ncis, criminal minds, trek fic, sandbaggers: tng, sg-1, sga, the year in fic

Of course, having read this, I'm going to be poised for the next round of meme'ing to challenge you to write mpreg, LOL.

I can heartily promise that it will get ignored.

Your fic round-up is a good chance for me to thank you for all you've written this year. With busy work, family, kids, parents, etc. my free time is spent reading, and I have to be very selective about that time. I escape into your Atlantis stories, and enjoy your characters and the situations they find themselves in. Thanks for the relaxation you have afforded me! Anne

I just printed out some stories I thought I hadn't read (from 2006 and 2007) but after a few sentences I knew I read them before. But I kept on reading and well, what can I say: At the end of the day I had printed about 200 pages of fic from your hands and I am soo looking forward to rediscover it all!
I just wanted to tell you that even if I'm away for some time, you are the only writer I will come back to. Your stories never fail to entertain, surprise and capture me. And I wish, Kavan Smith would read your Lorne POV stories for an Audiobook ♥.

Thank you and take care!
Have a good start into 2010
Eva

Once again you have been my favourite writer of the year. I don't know how you do it, but your characters are so real, and your insight so telling. Btw, I believe you see Rodney exactly how he is, and, as I'm not fond of wooby-Rodney either, I appreciate that very much. Rodney doesn't need to be made nicer; he is a prefectly valid character as played by DH.

Indeed, your original characters are fully fleshed out, and are already favourites. We need more of them too - pretty please.

QH is quite astonishing and I look forward to your perseverance. I will keep reading as long as you keep writing. I can't remember if you have ever commented, but I would like to know if you are aiming for a (known to you) destination, or whether the SG denounment is going to come into play.

Please keep up the good work - I don't know how I would manage without the visits to your Atlantis. It has become far better than the show.

Besr wishes for 2010
Carol

QH is... sort of being written by the seat of my pants. I have no idea how it ends, which occasionally makes me too nervous to write, but I'm pretty sure the SG solution won't be coming into play -- my universe is a little more complicated (and the actors aren't required to survive until the end).

Thank you very much and a good new year to you,

I have to agree that I prefer your Rodney, although I do enjoy other iterations of him as well. (The ones I truly despise are those that make him seem like a cross between Einstein and Ethel Merman and Emo-boy.)

I think I've read pretty much everything you've written this year for SG and NCIS. I may even have remembered to leave feedback for most of it. Between your fiction, Friday Zen, and Not at the Mall posts, you've given me a lot of fun this year, and a lot of insight into the world that I might have otherwise missed. Thanks and all the best for the New Year.

PS A drabble about how the Marines celebrate New Year's Eve on Atlantis would not come amiss. If you're taking requests, that is. :)

Thank you. :)

The marines celebrate New Years with things blowing up. Sometimes, they're even things they're allowed to blow up. And then there's the rail gun test, which Sheppard lets them do at midnight, so the entire city gets fireworks.

Now that actually makes sense, which is rather scary when it comes to Atlantis' marines. I guess it's all in the timing, isn't it? Thanks. :)
