The funny thing is - the moment I saw the photos of Ryan wearing his key, I thought it's gotta be one of those Giving Keys. Heh. :) I blame you for that. ;) In a positive way, of course. :-*

I have a lot of feels, okay? So basically, this is is what I want to happen first:

it was really weird writing angry ryan. because normally ryan is the chill dude and mp is the one that tends to boil over. i honestly can't imagine ryan getting so mad that he starts screaming at people, but i think at some point that's just really all that's left to do. there are moments in your life where you just have to be angry for a while.

and mp is just. i think it's hard for him to grasp what he's done wrong and how easy it is to fix things. like, he knows that there's something off, but he thinks that it needs some big gesture to make ryan forgive him when all he really needed to do was talk to him again, because the rest can work itself out.

negl, seeing ryan wearing giving keys was probably my favourite new discovery recently. because i've been wearing mine for so long and it's nice to see that people are finally catching on. i actually got my fourth one just this morning.

But then Ryan remembers something he’s said to Devon many times when he wanted to hang out with his girlfriend instead of with Ryan. ‘Blood is thicker than jizz.’ And that’s when he knows he’s doomed, even though he knows that the statement itself isn’t even true. At least he doesn’t think it is, he hasn’t tested it yet.

haha, i'd like to think that this was an exchange that happened at one point between them. it just sounds like a lochte-ism.

that part was honestly coming from myself. because i've been in a situation where i suddenly had apparently pissed someone off so much that they stopped talking to me. it's more than a year ago and i still have no idea what i did, but i keep thinking about it all the time. it sucks when something like that won't let you go and you see that the other person has obviously moved on from it.

it's the point of the giving keys too. like, you are meant to give yours away at some point to someone who you think needs the message/word engraved on your key.

Beautifully constructed story. I love the way the lochte's and the phelps' are tied together by the Ravens.

You got Ryan's hurt across really well, and the key part was beautifully done.

i think it was some kind of inside joke between devon and ryan at first and brandon sort of got into it? because during one game, devon tweeted at ryan if he was watching football and a day or so later, brandon posted a photo of the ravens logo on ig and then my head just did the rest.

working in the giving key was a very spontaneous decision. i hadn't even considered it at first, but then i saw ryan wearing it and i just had to put it in. because it is the concept of the keys, you are supposed to pass them on to someone who you think needs or deserves the word/messaged engraved on them.
