OK, I wasn't going to post this week, but if I don't write about Holiday part one now, I will have forgotten about it by the time I'm back from Holiday part two! I have been to Scotland and back since we last met, and very splendid it was too. The train journey up was enlivened by atommickbrane's compiliation tape and a baby who smiled silently at everyone

It's one of the first sentences I ever learned in Swedish - "Rebecca hates the alarm clock". One of the main characters in Colloquial Swedish is Rebecca the foreign exchange student, who goes to Stockholm to learn Swedish and ends up finding true love with her Swedish flatmate Erik! Terribly cute.

That'd be Rebecca hatar den vackra klockan! Sorry I didn't make it to your play reading but I was trying to learn all of Swedish in one evening. It didn't really work, but I made stumbling conversation at least!
