A boring post

Last week was pretty hectic; I went on a conference and didn't get home until yesterday, and I'm behind on everything fannish, including comments. :-/ Please drop me a link if there's anything I should look at (other than Yuletide nominations, that is ( Read more... )

Hoggywartyxmas posted its sign-up post.

Just sayin', Dolly.

It's one of the exchanges I'm considering! I'm just hoping people really are okay with shortfic...

According to the guidelines, authors are free to write whatever they want, any length. I'm sure you know the difference between a well-written short fic and a rushed-off vignette - your previous contributions were all fine!

Oh, I know the guidelines are very relaxed and the general spirit tolerant; it's just that the fic in this exchange has traditionally been very good and often long, and I don't want to let anyone down, haha. (On the other hand I like reading shortfic myself, so there probably are enough people who wouldn't mind receiving a ficlet!)

I hope you'll be a ble to relax a bit. Usually meetings are the pits, so I hope your weren't so bad.

Longfic?

It was interesting! Left me really tired, mind.

Yeah, I'm trying to write a Les Mis fix-it AU about Javert's not-suicide and redemption and attempts to become a better person. But there are so many things to fix. :-/

I feel with you. Meetings tend to do that to you.

That sounds so very wonderful, and I am certain you above anybody else, will be able to pull this off.

You are still keeping next year around March in mind? I would be so very thrilled.

Btw, this November we will celebrate the tenth anniversary of MandC, The Movie and of our small but dedicated comm Perfect_Duet.

I'm currently thinking up possible prompts. :-) Are you going to do it?

The conference was pretty cool -- no condensed pastes in sight. (No offence meant to those who like that kind of stuff, though. *g*)

Aw, well, I can definitely understand that. *nods* (I should probably be careful wrt time as well, but I'm feeling bizarrely productive these days...)

Glad the 500 words a day scheme is working! Mine fell apart a bit but I'm forgiving myself because at this point I'm very much not used to having a consistent job, let alone one this hard.

Have fun with fest season! :D

It, um, hasn't worked so well these last few days. *eyes wip guiltily* But at least now I know that I'm capable of it.

I signed up for Hoggywartyxmas! :-) Are you going to do it?

I think I've written one drabble in the last week. I'm not too impressed! But NaNo WriMo is coming and I'm always sure to put those 50,000 words to good use. I'm not going to go breaking my winning streak this year just because I have a difficult job. I managed well enough when I was in uni, with assignments and a dissertation. No excuse for me ( ... )

People who manage to do NaNo are superheroes, as far as I'm concerned!

Well, to quote TRS's comment above, authors are free to write whatever they want, any length. It's supposed to be low-pressure, after all! But I definitely understand not over-committing. <3
