My last extension on the professional LJ package has expired, and now I am down to a sad number of userpics and LJ is upset about my pic storage usage, lol.

Have you requested a further extension from LJ admin, or are they now refusing to grant paid account extensions?

I've had two so far, but although they granted me another six months on the most recent occasion when I requested one, the reply I received seemed rather grudging. I love LiveJournal and I've done everything I can think of to keep this site going and make people aware of its existence. I would be more than happy to pay for my account if only it were possible to do so.

Agreed! I have gotten more extensions than I can remember, and if I recall correctly, a few months ago LJ sent a notification that they would be discontinuing extensions. But I don't mind asking again! Worst thing they can do is say no :)

Well, I'll be very unhappy indeed if my paid account features are cancelled. If they do this across the board, they won't only losing the payments of people who are willing to pay but can't, they'll be losing longstanding users of the site altogether for no good reason. Presumably that's why they have granted paid account extensions until now.

It’s actually because all forms of banking payments coming from the US are blocked due to sanctions against Russia for attacking US allies, so unfortunately it’s not something LJ can manage. And is a consequence of us using a Russian site 😅. I love LJ, been here forever!

Ah, ... I might not prolong either, I barely use LJ to justify the costs, we'll see. :/
