[Wondering what all that noise is outside his house, Scout will investigate.

Ai! What the hell're ya doin'?

[Turns to look at you. Fire still in her hands, tears running down her face. And...dark energy seems to be surging around her feet.]

They took her away...

[For now, he'll keep his distance.]

Whoa, kid. Explain what happened? ...Did someone get droned?

Ai! What are you doing?!

[Turns to look at her. Flames in hand.]

They took her away.

Ai, this isn't going to solve anything....

[So when your street spontaneously goes up in flame, naturally your first instinct is to blame your own child. Of course, when Palom doesn't pop up to take responsibility or ask for help putting it all out?

You move to the next best option, which is dousing your own house and yard with the hose and trying to figure out what the hell is going on.]

[The girl walking numbly down the street, throwing fire might be a good place to start.]

What's going on?

[Turns to look at you. And yet. There is little recognition in her eyes. Tears are running down her face but she doesn't seem to notice.]

[why is it always fire? Nigel is FIRST OF ALL gonna turn on the hose and make sure the fire on this street stays away from the treehouse, then run out with an additional water gun from summer and the intent to take down whoever it is that's doing it.

But then he sees that it's Ai. This is a problem. He's gonna call out to her]

Ai! What are you doing?!

[Because fire solves everything.

Ai turns to look at him. But it's clear she doesn't really see you. There are tears running down her face that she doesn't notice as well.]

[He looks out into her eyes, confused by the tears running down her face - not so distracted as to ignore a little patch of fire he missed, though, which he absently shoots out]

What's wrong with you?

[that came out rougher than intended, but honestly he's a little annoyed that you're setting the street on fire]

[She doesn't care. Have a dark look.]

[Drawn by the sight of rising smoke, Slugger finds the street in flames -- and not for the first time. He doesn't know the cause of it because he has yet to see Ai, but he follows the angrily scorched path with a sense of caution.]

[She's standing in the middle of the street, walking slowly...and setting things on fire.]

[As Slugger comes up upon her, he slows to keep some distance between them, though he has a feeling it wouldn't do much to prevent her from setting him aflame if it was what she truly wanted. His hand is curled tightly around the grip of his bat, but he doesn't raise it from his side...]

[No, she isn't attacking people. Just the surroundings. A large blast sends a car up in flames.

She doesn't look like she's enjoying herself though. A mix of rage and sadness seem to be in her expression.]
