It’s been six months since I joined a tech company in Seattle. I have highs and lows but, for the most part, I’m getting used to it. It’s constantly amazing to me how they find all these smart kids to hire who know *so much* about what they do… but so little about anything else. I personally feel like love in your 40s really doesn't need to be about monogamy. So if you can get an aspect of your personality seen to in a healthy way with this guy? Have at it! And don't stop seeing people at home, because damn. New (old) city!!

I really feel your description of the tech world and people within. It drives me crazy to have those idealistic millennials over for dinner. They don't really allow themselves to be messy, which makes frank conversation so very earnest, super privileged sounding, and more than a bit boring.

That’s an interesting perspective... I don’t know why we sometimes think *one* person has to serve alllll of our needs.

“Boring” is definitely the right description for the tech milieu. It all feels very linear and math-like ;) But equally (ironically?) unrealistic and missing the forest for the trees. Maybe we’ll get used to it?
