Grades got posted today yesterday (wow, it's late...) and I'm, well, happy. 4.0 in Japanese, 3.8 in Race, Class and Gender, and 3.7 in Racism & Minority Groups. So yeah, I did well. Better than expected, in fact, especially with regards to that third class. It was enjoyable! And really interesting! Just... required a lot more work than I ( Read more... )

*pats you on back* Wow--a 4.0 in Japanese?! I have NEVER heard of anyone get that score, especially with this language. Ohh! I hope Ohta-sensei is still teaching in lecture. He was pretty cool. :3

The sad part is that the woman I've been seeing is leaving the counseling center at the end of the month, so I'll have to start with someone new in January. It's too bad that your counselor is leaving this month. I've had to go to counseling myself there, I know they'll try to find a good match for you.

Yay for being with family! ♥ I have a friend who lives in San Jose--it really must not have been that much of a shaker if she didn't mention it to me XD;; But yes, I hope it's not a habit in Cali or Washington!

And it amuses and scares me that your 'cold' mood is a poor penguin in ice. XD

Heh... well, I think the only reason I got such a good grade in Japanese is because I've picked so much up from years of watching anime and hanging out with people who know at least some of the language. Additionally, back in high school I took a summer course in introductory Japanese. Based on that alone, I still don't think I would have been okay with jumping straight to Japan 112 -- there's still a lot that got covered in 111 that I didn't know/had forgotten -- but it definitely helped when we were learning hiragana and katakana, since I had already learned them once before. I fully expect my grade to drop once I hit 112 and we start learning kanji. XD ( ... )

*hugs* Good on you for your outlook, and for taking proactive steps concerning your mental health. It's better than most of us manage, a lot of the time.

Best (and early) wishes for the new year. I hope it's a fantabulous one for you!

Internet-speak has forever ruined the mathematical expression of less-than-three. The poor thing. D:

XD Well you should be. And we had another one the other night, and that was strong enough to make the furniture shake.
