It is current, but maybe it has to do with it being the most current Mac version. Although Safari (the default Mac browser) reads the hearts just fine, so it's not the computer itself, it's the program... very odd. Firefox just reads the hearts as little vertical liines. ♥ ...And yet, when I c&p the little lines into this text box, they come out as hearts... this is bizare. o.0
