I know I'm becoming a nuisance what with niggling constantly over species, but I'm pretty certain that's a cockatrice. You know, like that thing Raven put in our hallway.

Looking a cockatrice in the face, like a basilisk, is supposed to result in instant death.
However, since this is a bronze one, I only ended up with a kind of tired feeling afterwards...
