 [Ai is back to normal, finally. She isn't human anymore. And it's a relief. You can find Ai in a few places today, just being herself.

A. The street is on fire.  ....okay no, it's not real fire and it's not the road. But a car parked on the street looks very much like it is on fire. Ai is practising her illusions.

[It isn't safe to be out so late. All sorts of awful things come out this time of night. Evil little boys, for instance. There's one watching her right now from high in a tree, feet dangling over the side of a large branch.]

[miss_enma_ai]

[Oh evil little boys, the horror. Ai notices him after a moment and walks over to the tree.

And is then suddenly sitting next to him.]

[strike_you_out]

[Slugger watches as she approaches, knowing she'll appear on the limb beside him at any moment. And there she is.]

Hi.

[He grins. It may be hard to tell in the dark, but the shadows surrounding him are especially black.]

[She does notice this.]

Did you get something back from the town?

[strike_you_out]

Yes. My immortality. I don't have to sleep.

[It's a relief.]

The flowers are yours?

[He's as bad as she is with the stalking.]

Yes. From home.

[No wonder they get along so well.]

[He didn't want to interrupt her song so he didn't stay long.]

From Hell?

[miss_enma_ai]

No. I live in a world of eternal twilight.

With companions?

[miss_enma_ai]

Yes. And grandmother.

[strike_you_out]

[Oh, right. She used to be human.]

Your real grandmother?

[miss_enma_ai]

No.

She helps me with my clothing.

[strike_you_out]

I see. ...Do you like it there?

[miss_enma_ai]

[She pauses for a moment.]

I believe so.

[On one hand it was her captivity and forced servitude to the lord of hell. On the other hand...she rather liked the calmness.]

I didn't mind it.

[strike_you_out]

Could you only leave when the lord of hell allowed it?

[miss_enma_ai]

No, not really. I left when I needed to. But I could go out whenever I wanted.

As long as I performed my duties and followed the rules I could do what I wanted.
