Kendo was one of the rare moments when Shishiwakamaru was actually calm and focused so he was actually in a good mood after practice today. He held his wooden practice blade in one hand, he did not walk around the city with his own real katana after all, especially with all the recent events.
But his eyes were caught at the sight of someone with holding a rather well made katana and Shishi could not help but admire the work that had gone into the blade. "Nice blade, the craftmanship is very good..." violet eyes glanced up at Kenpachi for a moment.
Yellow eyes met violet ones as when someone spoke next to Kenpachi. He glanced at the wooden sword in the other's hand and nodded. "Practical, too. Lotta fake ones 're sold tha' look good but'll break tha first time ya try ta use them as a sword. Weapons shouldn't be wall decorations, in my books." He nodded at the shinai. "Ya learnin' ta use it?"
Kenpachi shifted the blade so the hilt was towards the speaker. "Tha name's Kenpachi, Did ya wanna see it?" He wasn't in the slightest worried about the guy trying to take off with it.
"Learning, no. I have practiced Kendo most of my entire life. But yes, I agree, swords were made to be used, the katana is the soul of the samurai after all," Shishi remarked with a smirk.
"I am Shishiwakamaru," he introduced himelf with a slight bragging tone to his voice before nodding, holding out his hands for the katana.
Now Kenpachi was interested. "Just practiced kendo, 'r do ya know yer way 'round other blades too? Been usin' different weapons fer most o' my life, though tha katana's my favorite outta all o' em. Cinquedea's my favorite short one."
He handed over the katana, noting the proud note in the other's voice. "Nice ta meet ya, Shishiwakamaru." Now there was a mouthful of a name. Kenpachi was quite certain he'd likely trip over it a time or fifty. "So how young were ya when ya started learnin'?"
