Though the sound was soft, Lust started slightly at Aizen's knocking. Not bothering to check the peephole, she opened the door with a click, suddenly face-to-face with her date. All her uncertainty and inherent agitation culmulated to a palpitating point, and vanished at the sight of Aizen's eyes. Once again she felt the familiar thrill of recognized power like fur along her skin. With a smile, she gestured him in. "Come in, please. I just need to get my purse." More slowly this time, she looked over his clothes, lingering over his hair and hands, before ending her gaze at his face. "You look well." She filled her simple words with admiration and approval. The temptation to touch him was palatable on her tongue, but she resisted the urge magnificently. A part of her wished for the feel of his hot hands on the small of her back, though the gesture would have been utterly inappropriate. For the moment, coaxing Aizen to help her find work took a distinct back seat to enjoying his presence ( ... )

Lust was unsurprised but pleased to hear the gentle sounds of a happily babbling fountain somewhere in the restaurant as she and Aizen were led to a receptive table. The sensitive inks of memory raised images of a similarly babbling brook, though the half-formed thought was not from this life, but a previous one all but vanished into the realm of dream. The establishment inside was as authentic and full of restrained elegance as the outside, and its beauty made Lust look around appreciatively. A solitary violinist added his music to the more watery one, and Lust knew Aizen had chosen the best. The realization was nicely flattering ( ... )

Aizen had been holding his breath without realizing it, wanting nothing more than some sign of her approval. He gazed into her eyes, making it clear that tonight was about her and only her. Their ninja of a waiter darted about filling water glasses and the like, but all Aizen noticed was her face. She seemed to be taking everything in from the violinist to the candlelight and the way it played upon their faces.

When the waiter gave them their menus Aizen put his down, already knowing what he wanted. He had made arrangements when he reserved the table for the 'Tour of Italy' dining option. They would start with soup and a light salad and then move on to a variety of dishes reminiscent of the best the restaurant had to offer all accompanied by wines suitable for each course. Giving her a soft smile, he turned to the waiter and spoke softly. "I am Sousuke Aizen, I've made arrangements for the evening's meal. Your chef should know of my requests. I'd like to begin with the soup and salad as well as your best Cabernet. Thank you

Lust breathed deeply of the delectable scents swirling around the pair, listened to Aizen's request, and cocked an eyebrow at his dining preferences. Now she knew Aizen was trying to impress her, and the realization endeared him to her eyes more than any fois gras the restaurant had to offer on his behalf. Delicately, she placed the crisp white linen napkin on her lap and took a sip of cold water, before giving Aizen a hazy smile.

When the waiter excused himself, scurrying off to obtain an exotic wine for the couple, Lust's smile became sweetly vulpine. Though this was technically in public, the table was secluded and afforded the two as much privacy as possible. Normally, this would have been the time to inquire after mutual interests, past histories, and the like. However, Aizen was an unconventional man, and was therefore unsuited to conventional topics of conversation; Lust decided to simply go with her instincts. After a comfortable pause, Lust inclined her head and spoke: "Tell me two truths, and one lie."

After watching the waiter scurry away Aizen picked up his napkin and adjusted it on his lap. Casually glancing at Lust to gauge her reaction, he was pleased by the hazy smile she displayed and would have commented on it had he not been beaten to it by her decision to make conversation. Taking a sip of his water, he cleared his throat and smirked impishly.

"Two truths and a lie, hrm? Fine, I'll play along, but then you need to do the same. It's only fair." Pausing as the waiter brought over some bread and garlic butter, he considered what to tell her. "I have always downplayed how good I am at anything I attempt, in order to give others a false sense of security. I was an accomplished athlete and could have become a professional swimmer if I wasn't already committed to politics. And finally, I have yet to meet someone who made me feel as if they were anywhere close to my level until you came along."
