It had been simply a short matter for Karasu to find his missing coat before he was slipping out of his apartment and heading downstairs to meet up with Neji. He had dressed for the weather in tailored black trousers with a charcoal pinstripe, as well as an un-tucked black shirt, fashionably left unbuttoned at the collar.

His duster was slipped on in the hallway, booted feet making a low staccato on the polished floor, and then on the concrete outside as he stepped out and into the cool air. It wasn't windy at least, and he opted to simply push his waist-length hair from his face, back over his shoulder.

It didn't take long to spy Neji waiting patiently, and Karasu was quick to approach.

"Thank you for waiting..."

"It was either that or have the majority of the tea that I brought along for purpose of meeting with you go to waste," said Neji shrewdly. He was not someone keen on squandering; it was not practical. It was also not practical to invite someone to join you on a walk and not be willing to wait for them, but that much Neji did not feel inclined to point out.

With pale eyes he gave Karasu a quick once-over and then nodded approvingly. The other's choice of attire was a suitable selection and did nothing to insult his presence. After all, he could not be seen publicly with someone who dressed in scant attire, or even that of flashy or gaudy garments meant more for those young people with no set direction in life. Karasu's clothing told a great deal about the man ( ... )

"Well...we can't...have you wasting tea..." Karasu quipped in response, letting those violet eyes slide over the thermos and case before rising once more, studying Neji more intently. It was for all practical purposes their first meeting. The first face-to-face, at least. They had quipped at one another often enough over the journals, after all.

Neji dressed well. Comfortable clothing that showed exquisite taste as well as a more conservative mindset. It suited the Hyuuga male, from what he had deduced from journals alone thus far.

"Yes..." he agreed as Neji suggested they walk first, and after a moment fell into a comfortable pace at his side. He had noted the other's refusal to completely show his back and respected it. Neji was...far more intelligent than most he had made acquaintance with.

Perhaps it was a trait that had been drilled into Neji from the start of his martial arts training as a child; an old habit that did not die hard, but rather simply refused to die at all. If one did not present their back to a stranger, they would find they would not be stabbed in the back, either.

Of course, it was respectful to show some level of trust when encountering someone new so as not to offend them outright. Neji did so by meeting Karasu's eyes as they conversed, when he could, at least. So far they had said little, but he opted to hold that violet gaze when the other spoke to him and looked his way.

He inquired unobtrusively, "If you don't mind my asking, Akanami-san... what was it you were doing listening to me play last night?" With no set destination in mind, Neji allowed his feet to do the guiding, sticking to the main sidewalk for the time being. The thermos would keep hot the tea inside; the stainless steel exterior and glass interior kept the liquid within well incubated.

It was a trait that, nevertheless, Karasu respected. If one kept their guard their was little chance of their being hurt somehow from a previously unknown angle. For Neji's posture, Karasu remained at his side, within eyesight at all times, making sure to keep the other male in the same vein.

"Well...it wasn't an intentional act, Hyuuga-san..." he murmured, studying the other male, intently for a moment before allowing his gaze to soften a fraction.

"It was more that I had my window open for air...out on the balcony...and I caught a few strings of the melody." Now his gaze was turned forward as the sidewalk curved to the left.

"Once I realized it wasn't a cd but a flesh and blood player...well...I couldn't help but continue listening." He gave no apology for his actions, beliving that he had shown respect, and a deep admiration for the other's skills.
