But then again, she was one against wishful thinking and rhetorical questions, so now the question running through her mind was, 'Which ass is behind this door for me to tear their ass apart today?' )

The apartment had been quiet since Kankuro's leave the evening before, leaving Gaara to try and make some sense of the mess in his room. He at least managed to find his bed buried beneath the rubble as well as create a path to move around a little easier, but gave up not long after that for some quality time spent with an ice pack and some Tylenol.
A regime he repeated as soon as he got up and began to move around again the next morning after seeing his normally pale skin painted a lovely shade of bruise courtesy of Kankuro's fist. So it was a little bit of a shock, a little of anxiousness and a whole lot of wariness that he opened the door to see his sister standing on the other side.
"Shit."

Possibly.
Her hand immediately pressed against the door and kept it that way in case her brother had any bright ideas to slam the door close in her face.
"I see you got one, too," she pointed out, nodding at his bruise on the jaw. "Wonders never cease."

He didn't immediately step back to let his sister into the apartment, instead stood there trying to get a read on her mood and if he would be better off trying to shut the door before she got any further. Her hand closed off that particular route sadly, leaving him to shrug off her words as he stepped back away from the door, not bothering to respond to her comment towards his aching jaw.
Another ripe curse hissed from his lips as his foot slipped over a piece of a broken table leg, intent on getting back to the ice pack he'd set on the counter in order to answer the door.
"The idiot isn't here."
